The Original Macintosh
Anecdotes about the development of Apple's original Macintosh, and the people who made it (37 stories)
“It's always necessary to seek for perfection. Obviously, for us, this word no longer has the same meaning. To me, it means: from one canvas to the next, always go further, further...” -- Pablo Picasso

Burrell Smith:  (37)
Burrell Smith's brilliant digital board provided the seed that the rest of the team coalesced around. Its Woz-inspired creativity set the tone for the rest of the project.

Besides five different Macintoshes, Burrell also designed the digital board for the LaserWriter printer. In 1986, he co-founded Radius, and created their first two products, the Radius Full Page Display and the Radius Accelerator.
